Pilates Reformer Sessions

Pilates exercises help strengthen “core” abdominal muscles uniformly so that they support and balance your spine in order to maintain good posture.

When the core is not strong, the torso lacks the stability to move efficiently and with power. A person with a weak core may rely more on the arms, legs, or back muscles to provide support or balance to the spine when moving. Consequently, limbs may not be able to move efficiently and the back may be strained; it is easy to develop muscle imbalances, poor postural habits, and even lower back pain. The Reformer can be used to correct postural imbalances, scoliosis, post-partum abdominal weakness, or post rehabilitation from an injury.

Regular Pilates practice is one of the best ways to maintain a healthy back & joint mobility. Pilates clients realize improved flexibility, coordination, and balance; more balanced, streamlined muscles; fewer injuries; a more proportional distribution of body weight; and increased height. Pilates builds confidence and motivates you to perform other activities better!

Introductory sessions include a postural assessment and focus on basic exercises to assess your overall strength and flexibility. Breathing techniques for core strength are also explained.

Additional lessons build upon fundamental movements that improve posture and stretch and strengthen deep muscle fibers and connective tissues. Reformer workouts are a form of resistance training.

Our trainers design routines with attention to neutral spinal alignment, stabilization, and articulation. Exercises range from beginner to advanced, depending on the individual needs of the client. Personal Pilates sessions are appropriate for clients of any age or fitness level.
